Sycamore Township sets 9.99-cent electric supply rate for September
MC Squared will serve eligible aggregation customers for 24 months. Some accounts enroll automatically, while hourly-price, net-metering, and other special-service customers must opt in.

A unanimous June 9 vote set a 9.99 cents-per-kWh supply rate with MC Squared for 24 months beginning with each account's September 2026 ComEd meter-read cycle.
The Township's decision fixes the electric-supply price, not the entire ComEd bill. The Board voted 5-0 to select MC Squared for two years, and the official notice states the 9.99-cent rate and September start cycle.
ComEd remains the delivery utility, meter operator, biller, and outage responder.
The approved terms
The five-person Town Board unanimously selected MC Squared on June 9. The official renewal notice states 9.99 cents per kilowatt-hour for 24 months.
Service begins with each participating account's September 2026 ComEd meter read, not on one universal calendar date.
Who moves automatically
The general opt-out letter says eligible residents and small businesses will be automatically enrolled unless they opt out.
The July 17 letter provided a 21-day response window and an August 7 return-card deadline. It states there are no enrollment, switching, or early-termination fees.
Who does not move automatically
Separate Township letters say ComEd hourly-pricing customers, net-metering customers, customers already with another competitive supplier, and customers with certain special ComEd services will not be switched automatically.
Those customers may affirmatively opt in if they choose. The net-metering notice says the exclusion is intended to protect existing net-metering arrangements and special rates.
What the rate does not prove
The 9.99-cent figure covers electric supply. Delivery charges, taxes, fees, usage, and other bill lines still affect the amount due.
The Township notices do not promise savings compared with every alternative.
